Every element of the Junior ROTC program is designed with the purpose of developing young leaders. Orienteering is included in our curriculum with exactly this goal in mind. It is such a great blend of physical and intellectual effort: the higher order thinking skills of deciphering a map on the run and the physical and mental demands under time pressure. This is a great example of classroom theory coupled with in-field practice which require both individual and team effort.
